Welcome to HSGPV! A Canadian society dedicated to preserving and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of Germans from Poland & Volhynia.
We maintain a research library specializing in these regions in Edmonton, Alberta in Western Canada. Our origins stem from showcasing the private holdings of Ewald Wuschke, a major contributor to research in these areas. Donations over the years have increased our library collection to include over 2000 books, periodicals, maps, etc. Research materials also include other European and North American localities and cultural groups to facilitate genealogical pursuits. Enjoy perusing our extensive resources in Library Collection!
Our library is open every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public. A volunteer librarian is available to assist patrons. Visitors from outside Edmonton may book a private appointment. Membership is $25 annually, which allows borrowing privileges. Newsletters are published twice a year and available to the public.
We welcome all visitors! Guest WIFI available! We welcome new members!
Volunteer opportunities are available and include Board sub-committees.
Enjoy your time with us!
