AGS Conference 2019:  Images Through Time, April 2019

Our new display panels were a hit!   We were in the Marketplace area on AGS website and had a table for Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th.  Our volunteers had many in-depth conversations with visitors.  We thank the organizers for a wonderful and well-attended conference, and are pleased at the amount of interest that was generated in our society and research library.  We thank our many volunteers for spending their weekend with us!

Heritage Days 2018

We were in the German Pavilion and excited to see so many people interested in our society and its offerings.
Our volunteers had a great time sharing their genealogical and cultural expertise with all of our visitors.
We’re looking forward to next year and planning to have even more fun souvenirs to share!

HSGPV was involved at Heritage Days for the second year in a row, partnering with AHSGR, GRHS and GFR.  Visitors of all age groups were very curious about our societies, and appreciated the expertise of our volunteers.  Our various free handouts about our societies and genealogy were sought-after. A favourite was the Gothic script translator for German, Polish, Russian into English!  Our Take & Donate books were also popular!

Keep your calendars open for Heritage Days 2019 and visit us next year, or even consider lending your expertise as a volunteer.

Heritage Days 2018

Many thanks to Ed Retzer, Art Breier, Walter Epp and Robyn Morales, our member volunteers this year. HSGPV Board would especially like to thank Robyn Morales for organizing this excellent opportunity to showcase our heritage and genealogical pursuits, and facilitating the societal partnerships. Many thanks to GCAA for including us in the German pavilion.
